CHER GRENIE

-

Cher Grenie went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2018 in Lodi, CA following a courageous 3.5 year battle with cancer.

Cher was born to Dr. Robert and Sharon DeBord on April 27, 1955 in Corvallis, OR. Following a few moves to different states, the family settled in Lodi where Cher graduated from Lodi High in 1973.

Cher worked for Vic Myers as an office manager for over 20 years and retired due to her illness. Cher was a dedicated servant to our Lord and enjoyed serving Him on various missions and ministries. Cher spent years as a volunteer at Lodi Animal Shelter/PALS and Lodi House Thrift Store.

Cher had a love of children demonstrated through her work with mission trips to Haiti and Mexico. The children were drawn to Cher with a smile that would light up a room. Cher was the epitome of “a can-do attitude.” Cher had numerous talents; classical pianist, artist, creative writer and builder. Just to name a few.

Cher is survived by her husband, Dale, mother, Sharon DeBord, daughters Sarah and Emily (Mark), step-daughter, Maggie (Kurt), brothers Bob (Rachel), Jim and Tom (Dee Dee), sisters Mary (Randy) and Trish (Dallas), granddaughters Adriaunna, Gabby, Hailie and Christine and greatgrandson Issac. Cher is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert DeBord.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00 at First Baptist Church in Lodi. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cher’s favorite charitable organizations; Lodi House, PALS and Hospice of San Joaquin.
