S.J. water conservation district to receive grant
LODI — The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation on Thursday announced that it will award $375,000 to five WaterSMART water efficiency projects in Central California, including the North San Joaquin Water Conservation District.
NSJWCD will receive $75,000 for the South System Master Control Project, which will install master control equipment and software and a real-time water meter with remote monitoring capabilities at the end of the South System Pipeline.
The project will allow the district to better control and measure surface water use, increase surface water availability and decrease reliance on groundwater.
