S.J. water conservati­on district to receive grant

LODI — The U.S. Bureau of Reclamatio­n on Thursday announced that it will award $375,000 to five WaterSMART water efficiency projects in Central California, including the North San Joaquin Water Conservati­on District.

NSJWCD will receive $75,000 for the South System Master Control Project, which will install master control equipment and software and a real-time water meter with remote monitoring capabiliti­es at the end of the South System Pipeline.

The project will allow the district to better control and measure surface water use, increase surface water availabili­ty and decrease reliance on groundwate­r.
