TechSabe moves to new Church Street digs

TechSabe has rebooted.

The local tech store has relocated to 101 N Church St. and has opened its doors once again to the Lodi community.

Owner Enrique Basulto launched the business in 2009 from his home before eventually locating at 110 W. Oak St., where TechSabe was located until the recent move.

“Before we moved, people had always commented on how difficult it was to locate our business, and since relocating two months ago, we have seen an influx of clients as visibility has increased,” Basulto said.

The store offers a range of services to its patrons, from troubleshooting software to fixing cracked screens. They service most desktop and laptop computers, said Basulto, whose specialty is Apple products. He has been working with computer software and repairs for 12 years.

“We really began growing once we offered Apple repairs. It became our niche market and helped increase our notoriety,” Basulto said.

After Apple products, the most popular service offered is malware and virus protection. Basulto said most computer viruses are caused by cookies — small files which are stored on a user’s computer, which are designed to hold data specific to a particular client and website — and data encryption.

“Viruses are our top user-error issue, but we work with a range of software models that make diagnosing the viruses relatively simple,” Basulto said.

TechSabe offers software installation and setup for small business and are available for house calls for customers that request it. Appointments are available through their website www.techsabe.com.

They have expanded beyond the scope of Lodi and have opened a second location in Palo Alto. Due to the care and attention they offer their clients, TechSabe is able to compete against larger tech chains, Basulto said.

The business stays competitive by offering local discounts, he said, adding that TechSabe is offering a 10-percent discount for any services through the month of December.
