Biglow in the money, with sights set on leader

- FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS — News-Sentinel staff

Clements bareback rider Clayton Biglow finished in the money for the second straight night at the Wrangler National Finals Roder in Las Vegas, with an 86.5-point ride for a third-place finish in the second round.

With $31,000 in winnings so far in Las Vegas, Biglow stands at third in the world standings this year with $166,320, with the top cowboy — Iowa’s Tim O’Connell — just $31,000 ahead.

Biglow was schedule to compete in the third go-round on Friday night; results were not available at press time.

“Everyone has come to ride, and that’s how it should be,” Biglow said in a press release. “The match-ups are good, and everyone is riding good. It’s going to be like this all week.

“My game plan on every horse is to ride them jump for jump. I like to come into it with a game plan, obviously, but certain horses are different and are going to buck different, so you are going to have to change a little bit.”
