Hawks slip past Wood to re­main per­fect

The Lib­erty Ranch boys bas­ket­ball team pulled out an­other close game on Fri­day, beat­ing Wood High to im­prove to 7-0 with an Isaac Padilla free throw break­ing a 70-70 tie with 2.3 sec­onds left.

Jalen Pat­ter­son led Lib­erty Ranch with 19 points, fol­lowed by Jay­den Ba­roni with 18, Jaime Gon­za­lez with 16 and Padilla with 13.

The Hawks will play in the cham­pi­onship of the Stonebarger Tour­na­ment in Brent­wood to­day.

Lodi 67, Chavez 61, OT

Colton Stout and Matt Nickel each scored 18 points to lead the Flames, with Nickel adding nine re­bounds.

Mar­cell Roberts had 10 points, eight boards and five as­sists, Chase Shafter and Nathan Shoup had eight points apiece, Jace Haro had three and Lo­gan Stout had two. The Flames fin­ish the McDon­ald’s Clas­sic at 4 p.m. to­day against Buchanan at Edi­son.


Lodi 63, Free­dom 52

Kevin Don­dero led the Flames with 21 points in Fri­day’s vic­tory at the Shel­don Tour­na­ment, with Ma­son Stout adding 11 and Adan Al­varez nine.

On Thurs­day, Lodi beat Cen­ter 54-22, led by Hay­den Moreno’s nine points.



Lib­erty Ranch 60, Tokay 31

Mia Misasi led the Tigers with 15 points in Fri­day’s loss at the Lin­den Li­ons Tour­na­ment, along with 11 from Si­mone Medeiros, three from Aniyah Dean and two from Mi­caela Al­goso.

Tokay (2-5) plays Escalon to­day at 1 p.m.

Escalon 41, Galt 33

Ha­ley Sanchez led the War­riors with 10 points in Thurs­day’s loss at the Lin­den Li­ons Tour­na­ment, fol­lowed by Raina Sal­divar with seven points, Han­nah Aguirre with six, and Casi Gon­za­lez, Mizan John­son and Ju­lia Baffa with two each.

Escalon led 24-17 at half­time.

Tokay 31, Franklin 15

Jenny Corona led the Tigers in Thurs­day’s vic­tory at the Lin­den Tour­na­ment, along with six each from Zahleyah Miller, Doonya Khan and Yas­meen Ibrahim and three from Ah­miena ElKheidi.

In the first game, a 35-20 loss to Amador, Corona scored 12, while Khan, Sofia Sala, Ibrahim and Amara Charles had two each.


WRESTLING Tokay 50, Tracy 27

Six Tigers won by pin in Thurs­day’s Tri-City Ath­letic League vic­tory — Kris­jen Gon­za­les at 106, Leonardo Gar­cia at 145, Moy­ses Lu­ciano at 170, Ja­cob Pursell at 182, Car­los Tor­res at 220 and Ican Be­cerra at heavy­weight.

Luke Mil­lan added a ma­jor de­ci­sion at 152, and Cameron Sen­ner had an­other at 195. Ju­nior var­sity

Tokay 39, Tracy 18

Lron Camp­bell won by de­ci­sion at 170 for Tokay’s only win. The Tigers had sev­eral oth­ers win by for­feit.
