Mercedes Ehlers went to the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the age of 90. Mercedes, also known as Mar to family and friends, was born to Edward and Anna Eisenbeis on July 28, 1928 in Ashley, North Dakota. Mercedes moved to Lodi as a young girl with her mother and two sisters after the sudden passing of her father. She spent her childhood in Lodi. During high school, she met the love of her life, Loren Ehlers. They were married August 14, 1948. They were stationed in Las Vegas where they gave birth to their first son, Bryan. They returned to Lodi and had their second son, Mark. They raised their two boys in Lodi while owning and operating Ehlers Garage for more than 60 years. She was an active member of her church, St. Peter’s Lutheran, for most of her life. During her lifetime, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her 4 granddaugh­ters, traveling, gambling, golfing, playing cards, and baking yummy German dishes. In her later years, she enjoyed visits from her 3 great-grandchild­ren.

Mar was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, her son, Bryan Ehlers, and beloved husband, Loren Ehlers.

She survived by her son, Mark Ehlers (wife Vicki), her daughter in law, Michele, granddaugh­ters, Nicole Ehlers, Melinda Ehlers, Aimee Lind (husband Caleb), Brittany Miner (husband Thomas), and three great-grandchild­ren, Taylor Ehlers, Carson Lind, and Jack Miner.

To celebrate her life, a service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Friday, December 14th, 2018 at 11:00am.
