Tokay, Lodi wrestlers win TCAL matches
The Tokay boys wrestling team slipped past Lincoln on Thursday, beating the Trojans 34-33 in a Tri-City Athletic League contest.
Luke Millan pinned his opponent at 152 pounds, and Ruben Gomez pinned his opponent in the heavyweight division.
At 138, Peter Sim notched a major decision with a 12-1 victory. At 170, Jacob Pursell earneda 6-0 victory, while Robert De La Torre won 4-0 at 182, Cameron Senner won 6-2 at 195 and Carlos Torres won 11-6 at 220.
Moyses Luciano won by forfeit at 160.
Lodi 58, West 6
At The Inferno on Thursday, the Flames’ Adam Schollberger (154-pounds), Christian Zamora (162) and Coleman Towler (184) won their matches by pins. Lance Elliot (134) won by a 9-8 decision.
In the junior varsity matches, Lodi’s James Galindo won by pin. Three Lodi girls won their matches; Julie Lopez and Azzery Shelley by pins and Raven Edwards by a 7-1 decision.

Heavyweight wrestler Ivan Becerra pinned his opponent in Thursday’s team loss, while Jesus Martinez won his match 5-4 at 182 pounds. Ellias Castro, Andrew Senner and Lron Ocampo both won by forfeit.

Modesto Christian 69, Lodi 41
Modesto Christian pulled away in the third quarter of Thursday’s win over Lodi, turning a 13-point lead into a 29-point lead.
Ellie Van Tassel led the Flames with 10 points, followed by Marissa Fabian with nine, Brooke Aberle and Ashley Vasquez with six each, Veronica Alejandrez with four and Calista Morita and Ashley Toy with three each.

Modesto Christian 65, Lodi 28
Savannah Head and KayLeigh Coberly had 10 points each for Lodi (1-3 in the TCAL, 8-12) in Thursday’s league game. Reese Hohenthaner had four points, Angie Fugazi two and Hannah Funke and Sophia Alejandrez one each.
GIRLS SOCCER Junior varsity Tokay 2, Lodi 1
The Tigers won with goals by Jazmynn Giorgi and Brisayda Torres. Crystal Varela had seven saves as Tokay took down its crosstown rival.
