Delta College Board of Trustees names president

STOCKTON — The San Joaquin Delta College Board of Trustees on Tuesday elected trustee Catherine Mathis to serve as president for 2019, according to a Friday press release.

“I am honored that my colleagues have elected me to serve as board president,” Mathis said in the press release. “We have some important challenges ahead of us, but I am confident that, with their support, we will succeed.”

Mathis represents Area 7, which includes Manteca and Escalon, and is currently in her second term after first being elected to the board in 2014.

The board also elected trustee Charles Jennings, who represents Area 4 including Lodi and Galt, to serve as vice president and trustee Carlos Huerta, who represents Area 2 which includes Central Stockton, to serve as clerk.
