Three suspected in local burglaries and mail thefts
With assistance from the Lodi Police Department, deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on Friday arrested three suspects in connection with mail thefts and burglaries in the north county.
The mail thefts and burglaries took place from Dec. 23, 2018 to Jan. 11, 2019, according to an email from Sheriff’s Deputy Andrea Lopez.
“The number of victims is unknown at this time and our officers are still attempting to contact potential victims,” Lopez said in the email. “We know that multiple rural post offices were burglarized and mail was taken from Victor, Lockeford, Thornton, Woodbridge and possibly Acampo and Clements. The investigation continues.”
According to the San Joaquin County Jail’s website, Bryan Susich, 30, was arrested on suspicion of felony charges including second-degree burglary, possession of identification of 10 or more people with intent to defraud, using access card information without consent, theft by use of access card information, obtaining another person’s identification and vandalism.
Susich also faces misdemeanor charges including possession of personal identifying information with intent to defraud, possession of burglary tools, knowingly receiving stolen property valued at $950 or less and possession of a controlled substance.
Jeremy Kuehne, 33, was arrested on suspicion of felony charges including second-degree burglary, use of access card account information without consent and vandalism.
Kuehne also faces misdemeanor charges including possession of burglary tools, possession of identification of 10 or more people with intent to defraud, possession of personal identifying information with intent to defraud and two counts of knowingly receiving stolen property valued at $950 or less.
Philip Moos, 36, was arrested on suspicion of felony charges including first-degree burglary and vandalism as well as misdemeanor charges including possession of personal identifying information with intent to defraud and possession of burglary tools.
According to Lopez, those sending outgoing mail should use the letter slots inside of their local post office, and residents should check their own mailboxes frequently and avoid letting mail pile up to avoid becoming victims of mail theft.
“If you are expecting a package, check or anything of value, consider asking a friend or family member to check your mail,” Lopez said.
