Double-digit scorers in Hawks’ SVC victory

The Liberty Ranch boys basketball team outscored Union Mine 17-10 in the fourth quarter to win 68-61 in El Dorado on Tuesday, and stay perfect in the Sierra Valley Conference.

Isaac Padilla led the Hawks with 20 points, followed by Jalen Patterson with 18, Jaime Gonzalez with 15 and Jayden Baroni with 10.

Liberty Ranch (21-1, 4-0 SVC) 36-34 at halftime after holding Union Mine to nine points in the second quarter.

Goalkeeper Madison CoveyTaylo­r blocked nine shots as the Tigers fell to 1-2-1 in TriCity Athletic League play.

Tracy 3, Lodi 0

The Flames gave up a goal in the first 20 minutes, and the other two were own goals in Tuesday’s loss. Goalkeeper Reese Odell tallied 10 saves, while Andrea Becerra and Georgia Kelly played solid games.

Esme Santoyo scored for the Tigers with an assist from Leslie Gama in Tuesday’s victory, while goalkeeper Crystal Varela tallied four saves.

BOYS SOCCER Galt 4, Rosemont 0

In Tuesday’s SVC road game in Sacramento, Galt improved to 4-0 in conference, 13-1-1. The Warriors host Union Mine at Walker Park on Thursday.

Liberty Ranch (3-1 in the SVC, 15-1) scored its goals in the first half in Tuesday’s conference game at Hawk Stadium.
