Flames fall to Bulldogs in TCAL wrestling action

The Lodi High wrestling team fell to Tracy’s squad, 4528, in a Tri-City Athletic League road match on Wednesday.

Flames who won their matches — all by pins — were Sean Carpenter (heavyweigh­t), Christian Zamora (170), Coleman Tower (197) and Jacob Lalonde (147). Lodi’s Adam Schallerge­r won by a 100 decision.

Ezzery Shelley (111) was the lone Lodi girl who wrestled in the girls’ portion of the dual meet, and also won by pin.

Next Tuesday, Lodi (2-2 in the TCAL) takes on cross-town rival Tokay in the TCAL finale at The Jungle.

BOYS SOCCER Tokay 2, St. Mary’s 1

Lio Ruiz scored both of Tokay’s goals — unassisted in the first half, then after the Rams tied the game in the second half, he scored again with an assist from Nick Monteon.

Goalkeeper Miguel Cervantes had four saves as Tokay improved to 10-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the TCAL. The Tigers play at Lincoln on Friday to finish the first half of league play.

Lodi 0, Tracy 0

Amid windy conditions on the west side of San Joaquin County, the Flames and Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie, with Julian Lopez making nine saves in goal for Lodi.

Offensive standouts included Cesar Vela-Martinez and Adolfo Sanchez, while the defense was led by Will Esquierdo and Richard Herrera.

Lincoln 83, Tokay 65

Adam Johnson scored 20 points to lead the Tigers in Wednesday’s loss, with Austyn Reiswig (15) and Mohammad Ibrahim (10) also hitting double digits.

Hamza El Kheidi added eight, Michael Shoaib had seven, Anoop Singh had three and Huzi Wasiq had two.

The Tigers are next in action on Friday against crosstown rival Lodi at The Jungle. Junior varsity

Lincoln 73, Tokay 36

Ryker Henne led the Tigers with 17 points in Wednesday’s loss, along with six from Cylas Riley, four each from Jorden Lawrence and Nick Merrill, three from A.J. O’Grodnick and two from Daniel Dad.
