Former Stockton mayor takes plea deal
STOCKTON — Former Mayor Anthony Silva pleaded no contest to a conflict-of-interest charge this morning. The rest of the allegations against him have been dismissed.
Silva, 44, faces a maximum of six months in the county jail, with sentencing to take place July 29. Silva is also required to pay nearly $20,000 to a charitable organization that Silva wrongly directed to the Stockton Kids Club.
Similar allegations against co-defendant Sharon Simas appear headed toward full dismissal July 29, according to her attorney, Ken Rosenfeld.
