Green calls Drake confrontation ‘fun’

Draymond Green sure appeared agitated while trash-talking with Drake after Golden State’s NBA Finals loss Thursday night, but the Warriors forward now insists it was all in good fun.

Green also said people are simply making too big of a deal out of what the Raptors’ superfan does during games.

The rapper was caught on camera apparently calling Green “trash” after the Raptors’ 118-109 Game 1 victory in Toronto, during which Drake also seemed to troll both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. This came one day after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he spoke with the Canadian superstar about toning down his sideline antics.

“Drake talking on the sideline, I think so many people make a big deal out of it,” Green told reporters in Toronto Friday morning. “It is what it is. He’s a fan. He talks and it gets more attention because he’s Drake.”

Green went on to say Drake has pretty much earned the right to do what he wants from his courtside seat at Scotiabank Arena.

“So many people are complaining about it, like, ‘You don’t let any other fan do that,’ “Green said. “Yeah, any other fan is just not Drake, so they probably shouldn’t be able to do that. That’s just kind of how the cookie crumbles.

“He’s worked his ass off to be who he is,” Green added. “I think we all know when you do that, you get more leash than others. I think there’s so much talk and the NBA needs to (reel him in) ... no, they don’t. He worked to be who he is; you should get more leash. But I don’t mind it. It’s fun for me.”

So, anyone else ready to enjoy some more fun times between Green and Drake at Game 2 on Sunday?
