Flynn, Gates subpoenaed
WASHINGTON — The House Intelligence Committee issued subpoenas to former national security advisor Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign deputy chairman Rick Gates for documents and testimony Thursday, the latest salvo in Democrats’ efforts to follow up on the report from special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.
“Both Michael Flynn and Rick Gates were critical witnesses for special counsel Mueller’s investigation, but so far have refused to cooperate fully with Congress. That’s simply unacceptable. The American people, and the Congress, deserve to hear directly from these two critical witnesses,” said a statement from Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Burbank), the committee chairman.
