Ath­let­ics agree to terms with top two draft picks

OAK­LAND — The Ath­let­ics have agreed to terms with their top two draft picks, short­stop Logan David­son and right-handed pitcher Tyler Baum, the team an­nounced Mon­day.

David­son, a switch-hit­ter from Clem­son, is sched­uled to meet with the me­dia and take bat­ting prac­tice be­fore the Ath­let­ics be­gin a two-game se­ries against the Bal­ti­more Ori­oles at the Coli­seum.

Terms were not dis­closed, but ac­cord­ing to MLB.com, David­son’s slot (No. 29 over­all) car­ries with a a value of $2.42 mil­lion. He was ranked as the No. 22 prospect in the draft ac­cord­ing to Base­ball Amer­ica. Baum, a pitcher from North Carolina, was the 66th over­all pick, which has a value of $1 mil­lion.

The Ath­let­ics have agreed to terms with 34 of their 40 picks, in­clud­ing the first 11 and 11 of the top 24.
