THORNTON — Two male suspects who reportedly robbed a Chevron station in Thornton on Thursday night were later arrested in Modesto, according to a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Facebook post.

At approximately 10:35 p.m., the sheriff’s department received reports that two males wearing masks had robbed the gas station at gun point and fled the scene in an older white Honda, according to the post. Deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description driving at a high rate of speed heading southbound on Interstate 5 at Hammer Lane in Stockton. When deputies pursued the vehicle, the suspects reportedly began throwing money, clothing and other items from the car.

The juveniles, whose names were not released due to their age, were finally pulled over in Modesto at the Pelandale exit. Video surveillance helped identify the passengers as the suspects in the robbery, according to the post, and the two were arrested and booked into juvenile hall.
