Lodi 12U all-stars take down Clo­vis West

The Lodi Cal Rip­ken 12U al­ls­tar base­ball team stayed un­de­feated in the Cen­tral Cal­i­for­nia Cal Ripekn State Tour­na­ment, thanks to 13 hits that led to a 9-5 win over Clo­vis West in Kings­burg on Wed­nes­day.

Lan­don Beasley had three hits for Lodi (3-0), which fin­ished with 13 in the game. Char­lie Casazza and Tan­ner Grove each had two hits for Lodi, while team­mates Isaac Her­rera, Chase Whit­ing, Jack­son Blanken­ship, Jor­dan Diaz and An­drew Ficht­ner each had one. Diaz had a triple and Grove a dou­ble.

On the mound, Beasley, along with Her­rera and Casazza, split time for Lodi, as they gave up seven hits.

GOLF Hole-in-one

Jerre Mur­phy, an 82-year-old­golfer, nailed a hole-in-one at Micke Grove Golf Course on June 25.

Mur­phy hit the 100-yard shot on the par-3 13th hole with a 7iron.
