Lodi 12U all-stars take down Clovis West

The Lodi Cal Ripken 12U allstar baseball team stayed undefeated in the Central California Cal Ripekn State Tournament, thanks to 13 hits that led to a 9-5 win over Clovis West in Kingsburg on Wednesday.

Landon Beasley had three hits for Lodi (3-0), which finished with 13 in the game. Charlie Casazza and Tanner Grove each had two hits for Lodi, while teammates Isaac Herrera, Chase Whiting, Jackson Blankenship, Jordan Diaz and Andrew Fichtner each had one. Diaz had a triple and Grove a double.

On the mound, Beasley, along with Herrera and Casazza, split time for Lodi, as they gave up seven hits.

GOLF Hole-in-one

Jerre Murphy, an 82-year-oldgolfer, nailed a hole-in-one at Micke Grove Golf Course on June 25.

Murphy hit the 100-yard shot on the par-3 13th hole with a 7iron.
