Stock­ton city man­ager fired by coun­cil

STOCK­TON — Kurt Wilson’s five-year ten­ure as Stock­ton’s city man­ager ended sud­denly late Tues­day af­ter­noon when he was fired by the city coun­cil.

Wilson an­nounced the move in an email af­ter the City Coun­cil con­ducted his per­for­mance eval­u­a­tion in the closed ses­sion be­fore Tues­day night’s reg­u­lar coun­cil meet­ing.

There was no im­me­di­ate word on the se­lec­tion of an in­terim city man­ager or a long-term re­place­ment for the 46-year-old Wilson, whose salary was about $260,000 a year.
