City serves up pickleball

Lodi News-Sentinel - - OPINION -

Editor: On behalf of the Lodi Pickleball Club, I would like to thank the City of Lodi and the Parks and Recreation Department for providing six permanent pickleball courts at Legion Park. The city-sponsored ribbon cutting ceremony was a huge success, with over 80 people in attendance.

Special thanks to Lodi Mayor Pro Tempore Doug Kuehne, Parks and Rec Director Jeff Hood, Park Project Coordinator Steve Virrey, Deputy Director Cathi DeGroot, Commissioner Larry Long, and all other city staff involved.

Thanks also to Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop and Barbershop Quartet Royal Flush for their contributions to the ceremony.

We invite anyone interested in the country’s fastest growing sport to check out our Facebook page, Lodi Pickleball Club and to come out and enjoy the beautiful new courts at Legion Park. NANCY HENNEFER Lodi
