Brady, Raiders owner Davis attend event in Las Vegas
Tom Brady to the Las Vegas Raiders? You wouldn’t want to invest monetarily or emotionally in that eventuality. But as you wait impatiently for Conference Championship Sunday to launch, yeah, it’s a solid diversion.
Here is the creaky underpinnings on which this fantastical rumor resides.
According to CBS Boston affiliate WBZ, Brady was in Sin City Saturday night to attend UFC 246, in which Conor McGregor overwhelmed Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
What happened next relegated the fight to an afterthought:
Adam Hill of the Las Vegas RegisterJournal just happened to be on scene and asked UFC president Dana White about Brady’s interest in the Raiders and/or vice versa.
On Sunday morning, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports kept the ball in the air, reporting that sources have said Brady is interested in testing the free agent waters.
“It would be extremely surprising if Brady were to agree to any new pact with the Patriots prior to the start of free agency in March I’m told,” La Canfora wrote, “and while his process could still result in a return to New England it is far from certain at this point.”
Which would you think to be the most extremely surprising revelation — Brady joining the Raiders, or someone referring to Mark Davis as “one of the nicest people in sports"?
This would seem to call for professional assistance in our quest to discern where Brady is most likely to wind up. BetOnline, what say you?
