Kenneth Peters was called home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of December 15, 2020.

Kenneth, along with his twin sister Kathryn, was born at Sutter Maternity Hospital in Sacramento, CA on December 6, 1940 to Wesley Phillip Peters and Dorothy Lillian Ripley. Kenneth and Kathy along with their brother Roger all grew up in Sacramento, CA. Kenneth attended Crocker Elementary School during the years of 1945 to 1951 after which he attended McClatchy High School. From McClatchy High School he went on to attend Sacramento State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. On August 28, 1963 Kenneth joined the United States Air Force where he went to Officers Training School as soon as he finished his time in boot camp.

In the Air Force, Kenneth rose in the ranks as an officer from Second Lieutenant to First Lieutenant, to Captain and finally to Major. While in the Air Force Ken spent time in England and Germany and joined the Air Force Reserves in October 1978 from which he retired. While living in Santa Cruz, Kenneth worked for County Bank of Santa Cruz as a bank auditor and after moving to the San Joaquin Valley he worked for Central Bank doing the same. He left bank auditing to work for Omni Healthcare in Stockton and when they decided to close, he went to work for Raley’s Fine Foods of Sacramento, CA where he did accounts payable and accounts receivable. He retired from Raley’s in 2010. Ken was a very likable person and got along with everyone he met. He was a friend to all and an enemy to none.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger and his twin sister Kathy. He is survived by his wife Betty of 42 years and his cats, Oliver, Jake and Toby. He also leaves behind his niece Laurie Collom (Alec); nephew Tim Vermilion (Angela); and nephew Paul Vermilion (Stefanie) plus numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church of Lodi and any donations may be made to First Baptist Church in his name. Kenneth will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at First Baptist Church in the chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday January 30, 2021. All who knew Ken are invited to attend.
