Verla LaVaughn Woehl peacefully passed away on March 1, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born on April 6, 1922 in Martin, North Dakota to Charlie and Bertha Reimche Faul. Verla met the love of her life, husband Gilbert in November 1945 and they were married on January 14, 1946 in Lodi. They were happily married for 68 years until his death in December of 2014.

Verla was a grocery clerk at both Purity Store and Turnage Market. She also worked for Lockeford and Guild wineries as a bottling line operator. Verla was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lodi since 1946. She was involved with Women’s Missionari­es and the choir. She faithfully attended Church regularly because of her strong belief in God. Verla and Gilbert were life members of the American Ex Prisoners of War and the POW Delta Chapter. They enjoyed traveling to many national and state military convention­s and reunions. Also, they enjoyed traveling thru out the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada and Europe. Verla loved cooking and baking for family and friends and will be especially remembered for her German Kuchen, authentic german dishes and canned dill pickles and german relish.

Verla is survived by Gary Woehl (Linda); daughter, Brenda Patton (David); and two grandchild­ren, Elisabeth Woehl and David Patton.

Verla was a devoted wife, loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmothe­r. Verla was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bertha Faul.

Verla was the oldest of eight children and was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Herr; brothers, Arlo, Mirad, Robert and Charlie Jr. She is survived by brother, Wesley Faul; and sister, Marlene Goldade.

Her gravesite service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park on Tuesday March 9th at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 267 N. Mills Avenue Lodi, CA 95242 or to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue Stockton, CA 95204.

The family would like to thank The Hospice House of Stockton for their loving care of our sweet Verla.
