American Legion serving up omelet breakfast again

-

On Sunday, March 21, 8 to 11 a.m., the Lodi American Legion will once again be serving its omelet breakfast.

During the shut-down, Legion volunteers made improvements to the Legion building, located at 320 N. Washington St., to better serve veterans and the community. The breakfast is another opportunity for the community to see the changes in the kitchen and hall.

All mandated safety protocols will be followed during the breakfast, including social distancing upon entry into the building and mandatory hand washing, with social distancing and masks recommended except when seated and dining.

If you are not feeling well, please do not attend. All cooks and servers will be masked and gloved. Plasticware and other service items will be disposable, single-use items. Tables will be separated and seating will be provided at 25% of room capacity (400). Tables and chairs will be sanitized between uses.

Tickets received after payment will be exchanged for an ingredient cup and stuffed by servers. Participants will add their ingredients at the cook stations and dispose of the cup. The omelet and sides, including an optional bratwurst, beverages, and condiments will be served by auxiliary members.

All 14 omelet ingredients will be available. Sides will include home-style potatoes, fresh hot biscuits and sausage gravy, juice, fruit and coffee.

The cost is $10. Grilled bratwurst from Lakewood Meats & Sausage will be available for an additional $3. All net proceeds will support Post 22 and services provided to the veterans, their families and the community.
