THE RED RULES
San Joaquin County officially moved into the red tier on Tuesday. Here’s what that means for respective sectors in the community:
All retail: Open indoors with modifications (max 50% capacity)
Amusement parks: Effective April 1, max 15%, small groups of a maximum of 10 people or three household groups without intergroup mixing; indoor capacity max 15% with time restrictions; no indoor dining; weekly worker testing; in-state visitors only; online ticket purchases only)
Bars (where no meal is provided): Remain closed
Cardrooms: Outdoor only with modifications
Family entertainment centers: Outdoor only with modifications (effective April 1)
Gyms and fitness centers: Open indoors with modifications (max 10% capacity)
Hair salons and barbershops: Open indoors with modifications.
Hotels and lodging: Open with modifications (fitness centers 10% capacity)
Movie theaters: Open indoors with modifications (max 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer)
Museums, zoos, and aquariums: Open indoors with modifications (indoor activities max 25% capacity)
Outdoor playgrounds and outdoor recreational facilities: Open with modifications
Personal care services: Open indoors with modifications
Places of worship: Open indoors with modifications (max 25% capacity)
Restaurants: Open indoors with modifications (max 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer)
Shopping centers: Max 50% capacity (common areas closed)
Sports and live performances: Outdoor live events with assigned seats and controlled mixing (effective April 1: max 20%, includes suites with 25% occupancy per suite; weekly worker testing; in-state visitors only)
Wineries, breweries, and distilleries: Outdoor only with modifications: Reservations, 90-minute time limit, limited hours (on-site consumption closed by 8 p.m.)
Youth sports: Competitions allowed for outdoor low- and moderate-contact sports, according to the state's youth sports guidance.
