STEVEN ROCKFORD RAND

-

Steven Rockford Rand passed away peacefully at his home in Lodi on March 29, 2021. He was born in Anoka, Minnesota on March 12, 1947 to Joseph and Leona Rand. Steve lived an extraordinary life, and was lucky enough to make his passion of aviation a career for most of it. The only thing he loved more than flying was his country; he was very patriotic and loved keeping up on politics. You could always find him watching the news or reading a book to grow his knowledge on these topics. He was a stubborn man with a tough exterior, but those closest to him knew his big heart and how much he cared for and loved his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Rand of Minnesota; his brother, Richard Rand of Minnesota; and his sister, Judy McCall of Minnesota. He was also loved by plenty of chosen family: daughter Victoria Oliver and her husband Kenneth of Lodi; grandchildren, Lauren Oliver, Madison Oliver, and Megan Rea and her husband Christopher, all of Lodi; and his great grandson, Oliver Rea, who he nicknamed “Wolfie” and loved greatly.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Margot Hunter, exactly 15 years ago to the day.

Steve never liked being the center of attention and per his wishes there will be no services. Celebrate his life by making a donation to his favorite charity, The Wounded Warrior Project. “When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
