Tigers earn hoop victory

The Tokay girls basketball squad notched a victory on Tuesday, with Paulina Barron’s 12 points leading the way in a 44-36 win over West at Tokay.

Fernanda Vazquez added nine points and seven rebounds, Michelle Vazquez had six points, Kailey Cross and Bella Nguyen had five points each, Baleria Ochoa had three points, and Yasmine Garcia and Jenny Corona had two points each.

Tokay is on the road for its next game, at Lincoln on Thursday.

Girls basketball: Lincoln 67, Lodi 26

Annette Vasquez led the Flames with eight points and nine rebounds in Tuesday’s loss, along with seven points and eight boards by Savannah Head, four points from Reese Hohenthane­r, three points from Ashley Cunningham, two points and seven rebounds by Angelina Fugazi and two points from Vivianna Fugazi.

Lodi is 1-3 in TCAL play.

Girls water polo: Lodi 9, Lincoln 8, OT

Sarah Campbell scored the game-winner in overtime for the Flames on Tuesday, one of two goals in the game for her.

Elisa Grim led the Flames with three goals, Emily Engle scored twice, and Morgan Vice and Ava Sepulveda scored one each.

In the cage, Lydia Campbell tallied 12 saves.

Boys water polo: Lincoln 14, Lodi 13

Victor Plunkett led the Flames with seven goals as the Trojans squeaked by on Tuesday, while Anthony Celli added three, Braden Endter had two, and Nathan Larson had one.

Ryan Streyle blocked six shots. Lodi will face Tokay on Thursday.

Girls golf: Tokay def. Tracy

With Tracy unable to field a complete team, Tokay won be default on Tuesday to improve to 4-41.

Emma Buck led the Tigers with a 55, followed by Samantha Hittle with a 56, Emma Jellen with a 60, and Claire Jellen and Melissa Parra with 71s.

Tokay finished the season on Thursday with a match against Lodi at Woodbridge Golf & County Club.

Girls golf: Lodi 208, Lincoln 311

The Flames cruised to victory on Tuesday, with a surprise 39 by sixth golfer Reese Koenig.

Amelia Garibaldi led the Flames with a 36, followed by Delaney Vasquez with a 42, Viviana Rojas with a 43, and Kerrie Nickel with a 48.

JV girls water polo: Lincoln 14, Lodi 3

Madison Broughton, Holly Wilson and Moriah Schmierer each scored a goal in Tuesday’s loss, and Abigail Rusch notched seven saves.

JV boys water polo: Lincoln 8, Lodi 5

The Flames got one goal each from Korbin Reed, Blake Ehlers, Eli Plath, Ethan Elrod and Koehn Amador, while Evan Peterson blocked 11 shots.
