San Joaquin County Office of Education to host job fair next week
STOCKTON — The San Joaquin County Office of Education is hosting a job fair to recruit permanent instructional assistants from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 in the Nelson Center, 2922 Transworld Drive, Stockton.
Those hired as a permanent instructional assistant may be eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus. Instructional assistants work alongside teachers, supporting the instruction of students in special education across San Joaquin County. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and proof or proficiency via proficiency exam or 48 college units. No minimum experience is required. The SJCOE provides training and ongoing support.
In addition, the SJCOE will also be hiring substitute instructional assistants, substitute bus riders, substitute teachers, temporary campus safety technicians, temporary clerical support and temporary interpreters at the fair.
Fingerprinting for background checks, proficiency testing vouchers, transcript evaluations and assistance with the online application process will be offered.
