V. BROCK WATTS
1947 — 2022
V. Brock M Watts passed away suddenly on April 12th, 2022, at his home in Woodbridge. He was born in Stockton on August 28th, 1947, to Virgil and Dorothy Watts. He grew up in Lodi and graduated from Lodi High School where he enjoyed playing golf. Brock then attended San Diego State, where he was set to graduate with a degree in business. But the world had other plans for him, and he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. Brock served his country as the assistant golf pro at Awase Meadows Country Club in Okinawa. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Brock settled in Lodi where he took over the family business, Watts Equipment Company. He successfully ran the company for over 40 years. Brock met the love of his life Marolyn in Lodi and they were married on August 7th, 1976. The two settled in Woodbridge and were blessed with two children, Chris and Lindsey, who brought Brock tremendous joy.
Brock was a lover of traveling, food and of course, golf. Brock and Marolyn traveled all over the world throughout their years together. One of his greatest passions in life was not only traveling, but also playing at legendary golf courses along the way. He had a knack for remembering almost every hole he ever played.
If anyone ever need to get a hold of Brock, they knew where to find him— at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club. Whether it be a friendly conversation or seeking advice, Brock was always there with a lending ear and words of encouragement. Regardless of the situation, he was always asking, “What can I do for you?” He was one of the good ones. Kind, genuine, and always cheering for others to succeed. He made every person he touched feel worthy. From the waiter serving his meal to his children’s friends, Brock made everyone feel like family. His loss is immeasurable.
Brock was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dorothy. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marolyn Watts; his children, Chris and Idania Watts, Blake and Lindsey Burnham; and his granddaughters, Madelyn and Audrey Burnham.
His family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Brock at Wine and Roses May 3rd starting at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.
