PALMA SIEGLOCK

-

June 4, 1930 January 12, 2023

Palma (Mittelstadt) Sieglock was a fun, hardworking woman who lived life to the fullest. She had a ready smile and was always up to make kuchen or a batch of strudel, play a game of cards, or head out for a weekend of fishing with her camping buddies or family.

Born as one of seven children on June 4, 1930 in Gackle, North Dakota to Robert and Mary (Geiszler) Mittelstadt, there was always family around to play with; riding atop her brother Leonard’s shoulders to school through the snow was a favorite memory of hers.

Palma’s family moved to Lodi, California in 1943 and in 1950 she graduated from Lodi High; her classmates were some of her dear lifelong friends. Palma married the love of her life, Ray Sieglock, on November 1, 1952 at Lodi’s Emanuel Lutheran Church. They shared 52 wonderful years together.

Palma loved the Lord, always putting Him and her family first. On Sundays, you would find her and Ray at church; and every work day for 28 years you would find Palma’s friendly face at Woolworths where she was ready to wait on you.

Palma was a regular at her Hutchins Street Square swimming class and the Dakota Club dinner dances. Traveling was high on her list of fun things to do. If she had a free weekend she would call her nieces and nephews, friends and family to come over to play cards, enjoy a barbecue in the backyard, or take a quick day trip to Apple Hill or Lake Tahoe. After retiring, she surely enjoyed her Saturday breakfasts with the girls and her Taco Bell Tuesdays with “the gang”.

In addition to attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, Palma was an avid Kings’ fan who treasured her Gerald Wallace autograph and the night she met the team at Frank Fat’s.

Palma’s brothers, Francis, Rex, Leonard, and Lloyd, and sisters, Delores and Doris, all preceded Palma in death. Palma will forever be loved and dearly missed by the family she leaves behind: Curtis Sieglock, Doris (Michael) Farinacci, and Jack (Brenda) Sieglock; her grandchildren: Chris (Rachel) Sieglock, Mark (Greta) Sieglock, Amanda Sieglock, Dante (Morgan) Farinacci and Allie (Peter) Farinacci Wyche; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters.

There will be a viewing from 4pm-6pm on Thursday, January 19th, at the Lodi Funeral Home. On Friday, January 20th, there will be a Memorial Service at Emanuel Lutheran Church at 11am (preceded by a burial at Lodi Memorial Cemetery). Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1540 W. Lodi Ave., Lodi, CA 95242.
