ELIDA LOUISE MANNA HARRIS

-

March 22, 1940 — January 10, 2023

Our angel on earth is now doing her work in heaven. In this crossing, she was surrounded by her husband and children.

Her grieving family include husband Earl Harris, daughters Kelli Hudspeth [Terry], Valerie Salvetti [Sergio], step-son Matt Harris; sister Marlene Manna Oehler and family; brother Mike Manna (Lisa) and family; grandsons Tucker and Hayden Hudspeth, Giordano and Marco Salvetti, stepgrandson Joshua Harris and additional incredible family members who filled her days with love, laughter, and care.

Elida was raised on a family ranch in Acampo, CA. Her parents, Chris and Elda Manna (both deceased), built a foundation that would carry throughout her life: love of family, hard work, gardento-table cooking, and the shared family meal. She was a 1958 graduate of Lodi Union High School. Upon graduation, she showed her independence with a move to San Francisco to pursue a career in nursing and became an incredible stayat-home mom filling her daughters’ lives with love and church.

Years later, her life’s journey brought her back to the Lodi area. Elida and Earl were members of the Model-A Club enjoying many outings in their antique car. They were also founders of Biscotti di Mamma. The Harris backyard was filled with gardening passions and the enjoyment of watching hummingbirds. Days began with scripture readings, music was always on, passion for her 49ers and Giants was such fun and she never missed a televised game. Elida’s culinary talents brought such joy to family, neighbors, and friends. She loved hosting dinners, holidays, waffle breakfasts in the backyard, and harvest celebrations. Her Sunday always began with church; it was a continued thread in her life to be nearer to God.

Elida lived a life of purpose in being of service to others in her work and the many hours of volunteering. The gift of connection, so important to her, through telephone calls and beautiful cursive handwritten notes, was a gift to all her friends and family. Her legacy of kindness is forever in all our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204 (or non-profit of your choice). A Celebration of Life will be planned for the spring. Everyone is encouraged to post their memories, a place we can share together, online at www.collinsfamilyfuneralh ome.com (Lodi, CA).
