SAM TOLSON

Samuel Tolson passed away on January 3rd, 2023, in Lodi, CA. He was born in Morocco on December 6, 1959. Sam was the son of Samuel and Opal Tolson. His father served in the Navy, and they moved around when Sam was young. In addition to Morocco, they lived in Panama, Turkey, The Philippines, North Carolina and finally California. Sam graduated from Vintage High School in Napa, then went on to receive an AS degree in Business Administration from Napa Valley College, a BS degree in Business Administration at Sacramento State, A Master’s degree of Business Administration in finance from Golden Gate University in Sacramento, then finally a Juris Doctor degree from Humphreys College School of Law in Stockton.

With his CPA license he joined a Tax and Accounting partnership in Lodi, where he worked for 35 plus years helping local businesses with their taxes and accounting needs.

In his spare time, he enjoyed using his finance knowledge to invest in the stock market and to buy and sell stock options, which became his hobby and brought much joy to him. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing in Alaska with friends. He would also never pass up the opportunity to play a game of Canasta. Most recently, Pokemon Go was his latest passion that kept him on the move.

Sam never married but did maintain a close relationship with his two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to mourn his passing are his sisters, Liz Grady of Murfreesboro, TN and Sandy (Greg) Keathley of Vacaville, CA, nephews Joshua and Carter, along with many cousins, business associates and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on January 25, 2023, at Vaca Hills Mortuary, in Vacaville at 1 pm.
