ELFIDA MORGA

Elfida Morga, 83, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2023. She was born in Big Lake, TX, on February 20, 1939, but was a resident of Lodi, CA for 53 years. Elfida was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana, great grandmother, great great grandmother and cat mom to Cassie. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight of her siblings, her eldest son Jose Bernardo Tapia, her daughter Mary Sanchez and her grandson Juan Carlos Sanchez. She is survived by three siblings (Elivira Almanzar, Eva Mann & Adam Cobarrubio), three children (Katherine Thatcher, Guadalupe Sanchez Jr. & Rebecca Belasco), sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Elfida spent the early parts of her life being a mother to her children and working hard to build a loving home. She worked as a

CNA at a Nursing Home, but because of her love of cooking, she became a cook at Aaron Manor Nursing Home then Angelina’s in Lodi. Elfida loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a long-time member of Century Assembly Church, where she donated her time as a Sunday School Bus Driver. Once she became a grandmother, her life shifted into being a full-time grandparent. She dedicated her days to helping raise and caring for her grandchildren. Elfida loved the cooking channel, loved the buffets in Reno, loved people watching on main street in Disneyland, loved her massive collection of salt and pepper shakers, and loved challenging all her grandchildren to a game of Yahtzee. What she loved most of all was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed however her memory will be kept alive within all those she loved.

A celebration of life will be on February 3, 2023 at 10am at Lodi Funeral home (725 S. Fairmont Ave.). Interment will be at Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery (5750 E Pine St). A luncheon will follow at the Independent Order of Oddfellows in Lodi, CA. (6 S Pleasant Avenue). Family and friends are welcome.
