JOHN BRIDGFORD JR.

John (Jack) Wilson Bridgford Jr. was born on February 14, 1933 in Lowell, Massachusetts and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 8, 2023.

At 16 years of age, he left home to join the United States Air Force and later met his wife Connie while stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1954. They were married in Hillsview, South Dakota on April 24, 1954. While in the U.S Air Force, Jack served tours of duty in England, North Dakota, Vietnam, Germany, Illinois, Turkey, and California. In 1977, after 27 years of service, he retired as a SMSGT and settled with his wife and two children in Lodi. During his time living abroad with his family they traveled extensively; saw many wonders of the world, attended the Superbowl and the Olympics. Jack was a devoted husband, dad, papa, and great grandpa. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and was an active part of St. Anne’s Church. He loved sports (especially football), spending time with his family, loved going to the horse races and always told the best stories. He was truly one of a kind.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes, sister Lois, brother Richard, wife Connie, and son Patrick.

He is survived by his daughter Kim Rudow (Jerry), granddaughters Kylie Rudow (Bryan Trew), Katy Parmenter (Mike), Cassie Ramsey (Brandon), daughter-in-law, Zaida Bridgford, greatgrandchildren Ian Ramsey, Ivy and Walter Trew.

He was deeply loved by his family and his entire community. He will be greatly missed.

There will be visitation on Sunday, 2/12 from 4pm-8pm and recitation of the rosary at 6pm at Collins Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, 2/13 at 10am at St. Anne’s church. Immediately following mass, reception will be at St. Anne’s Hall.

Graveside services will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery at 2pm with full military honors.
