MARGARET AMALIE MUTHER

1928- 2023

-

Our dear mother Margaret Amalie Muther passed away peacefully at her home on February, 17, 2023, with her three daughters by her side. She had a full and blessed life, living to the age of 94.5. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her. Her kind soul and witty sense of humor brought joy to all who were in her presence. She lived a life full of fun and adventure - having traveled to more than 32 states, 25 countries and nearly every corner of California in her lifetime.

Margaret was born and raised in Lodi, CA to Nicholas and Amalie Felten. She attended St. Anne’s School, Lodi High School and graduated with a Business degree from San Francisco State University. She was married for 50 years to the love of her life Fred Muther, who preceded her in death by 20 years. She worked at the Lodi City Hall, FM Distributing Company (our family business), and was an incredible homemaker and mother. Margaret was an active member of the Women’s Club, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and was involved in anything to support her daughters and granddaughter. Mom was a social and loyal friend who till the end of her life continued to have monthly lunch dates with a group of her high school friends. Nothing meant more to Margaret than her family and her dear husband, Fred. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her father Nick Felten, mother Amalie Felten, brother Nicholas Felten, and sisterin-law Beverly Felten. She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Mecca (Sterling), Monique Muther, Heidi Muther (Sue); granddaughter (her true joy!) Amelia Muther Ryan; baby brother Ralph Felten, sisterin-law Joanne Felten and many close nieces and nephews.

Mom lived a life filled with passion and complete humility. She was deeply loved and will be terribly missed, but we know she is now dancing with dad in heaven.

There will be a celebration of Margaret’s wonderful life at Wine and Roses. Her funeral services will be private, and Interment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. For more information please call the family at 209-369-2292.
