EDWARD A MCLAREN

February 7, 1942 — February 28, 2023

Edward A McLaren, 81, passed away Feb 28 2023 at his Lodi home. Ed was born FEB 7 1942 in El Monte CA to Stanley and Adalaide McLaren. He grew up in El Monte and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1966 with a BA in Agricultural Biology. Ed worked for 40 years in the field of agricultural products. He was a salesman, consultant and general manager for companies such as Pacoast, Agrium and Unocal. Later in his career Ed served as chairman of The Western Ag Chemicals Association.

Ed is survived by his wife Roberta McLaren. The two were married in 1990 and each had two children. Ed had two sons, Doug McLaren and his wife Carolyn of Tennessee and Greg McLaren and his wife Melissa of Lodi, Bobbie has a daughter and a son, Rebecca Bengtson and her husband Todd of Fresno and Brent Whiteley and his wife Sarah of Manteca. Bobbie were blessed with 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Ed loved gardening, landscaping and home improvement. He and Bobbie built a beautiful home in Lodi where they often hosted family and friends. Ed took classes to earn the title of “Master Gardener” and had his own unique style of landscaping. He was also involved with AA and led meetings in Lodi for over 30 years. Through AA, Ed helped countless people clean up and improve their lives.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am SAT March 18 2023 at Lodi Funeral Home.
