Elvira Cobarrubio Almanzar, age 89, of Lodi, Ca, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on April 27, 2023. She was born in Big Lake, Tx, on Nov 15, 1934. She was a resident of Lodi for 59 years.

Elvira was a wife, mother to 7 children, sister, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, and greatgreat grandmothe­r. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Enrique L Almanzar, and sons; Enrique Jr, Eduardo, Ernesto, and Thomas Almanzar, Her daughter Estella Almanzar. Her parents Joseangel and Jesusita Cobarrubio, 11 of her siblings, and a greatgreat-grand child Colby G. Baker.

She is survived by two children, her oldest daughter Esther Almanzar and Eloy Almanzar, 8 grandchild­ren, 12 great grandchild­ren, and two siblings Eva Cobarrubio (Mann) and Adam Cobarrubio.

Elvira spent the early part of her life working hard alongside her childhood sweetheart, and husband Enrique of 71 years, to build a loving home for her children and entire family.

Her passion as a care taker did not go unnoticed. She highly esteemed family values so much so by helping family and friends. She helped take care of her mother and brother, Henry, and raised two of her grandchild­ren. She worked as a foreman of Tri-Valley Growers until she retired.

Elvira loved the Lord and was a life-time member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She ministered alongside her husband holding pre-marital classes in their Lodi home. She supported and ministered alongside Deacon Porfi Cisneros of St. Annes Catholic Church.

A celebratio­n of life will be held Monday, May 22, at Lodi Funeral Home from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Followed by a catered reception on the premises.

An internment will take place at a later date at Cherokee Memorial Park.
