Betty Joyce Friston passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Betty was born in Mesa, Arizona to William and Bertie Holliday. She grew up in Modesto, CA and moved to Stockton in the early 1960’s. She worked at Bank of America and retired from San Joaquin County Human Services. Betty loved the coast and could out fish everyone in the boat. In 2000, she became a resident of Lodi, CA. For the past 10 years, Betty was a faithful member of the Christian Life Center. She was dedicated to the Lord and loved being a church greeter, welcoming those who entered the church in search of a closer relationsh­ip with God.

She leaves behind her loving and loyal husband of 44-years, David Friston of Lodi, CA. Betty had two children, her daughter, Rhonda Lobosco (Jimmie) and son, Mark Irons. She had two stepdaught­ers, Phyllis Friston and Laura Van Dyke. She loved her grandchild­ren, Bill Irons, Erika Irons, Jackson Temple, Joshua Irons and Blake Van Dyke. She was also Great-Grandma to Morgan Eichler, Gracie Pell, Alexander Irons and Paisley Irons. She will be missed by her fur baby, Abbie. She has one sister, Carolyn. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her sweet kitty Boots.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, May 20th, at Lodi Funeral Home at 1:00pm. The family requests donations be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Disabled American Veterans.
