DEAN O. SCHERER

-

We are saddened to announce the passing of Dean Scherer on February 6, 2023, at the age of 72, from multiple health issues in Meridian, Idaho, where he resided for the past three years.

Dean was born to Doyne and Sarah Scherer on February 27, 1950, in Lodi, CA, where he lived most of his life. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Todd, his father, Doyne, and his little sidekick, Crash. He is survived by his youngest son, Ross, daughter-in-law, Michelle, and one granddaughter, Keeley, all of Vail, AZ, his mother, Sarah, of Lodi, CA, sisters Tia (Larry) Kost of Galt, CA, Lita (Stuart) Pattison of Williamsville, NY. Dean left many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews that also miss him terribly.

Dean attended local elementary schools and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1968, then attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

During the early years of raising their boys, Dean and Lynette made many wonderful memories camping and fishing, and Dean always coached the boys’ sports teams.

Dean loved golf, fishing, and hunting over almost everything (including a lot of people). Whatever sport he didn’t participate in, he watched on TV. He played football and baseball in his high school years and continued to play baseball at Cal Poly. Dean also enjoyed playing organized softball with all of his old friends.

We would like to say a special thank you to Ross’ mom, Lynette Craven, for being the most amazing angel helping him and praying for him and with him until the end of his life.

We will Celebrate Dean’s Life on : Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Idol Beer Works from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm 100 S. Sacramento St., Lodi, CA 95240
