Stockton 7-Eleven robber convicted
STOCKTON — The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday that Tyrone Frazier was found guilty and sentenced to six years for robbing a Stockton 7-Eleven store in August.
Frazier, 42, received three years for the robbery, and because he admitted to a prior strike, received an additional three years to his sentence, reports state.
A video of 7-Eleven employees beating Frazier went viral in August, and the District Attorney said they would not be investigated.
According to Stockton Police Department, incidents leading up to the beating began on July 28 at 3:41 a.m., when a store employee reported a man entered the business, went behind the counter and threatened to shoot the victim if he intervened.
The thief then took several packs of cigarettes and other items from the shelves and placed them in a large garbage bag before fleeing, police said.
On July 29, at 12:27 a.m., the employee reported the same thief from the previous incident entered the business again, this time demanding money while simulating having a handgun.
The employee did not comply, and the thief grabbed several food items and placed them in a garbage bag before fleeing once again, police said.
On Aug. 3, investigators were able to combine the investigations of the suspected robberies and suspected assault after learning of the video, police said.
