New president named at Dameron Hospital
Adventist Health has appointed Doug Long president of Dameron Hospital.
Long took over for Terri Day on Feb. 26, and will be responsible for the hospital’s day-to-day operations of the hospital, overseeing patient care, and maintaining its financial integrity.
Adventist Health has managed Dameron since 2019.
Long’s appointment marks a return to Adventists Health, as he previously served as business development executive, contracting with vendors, establishing partnerships, and coordinating integration into system operations.
He also assisted in the transition of the organization from federated model to shared services model. Prior to his return, Long held leadership roles at
West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles and Riverside Community Hospital.
“I’m looking forward to getting back into a hospital and being closer to clinical care and serving communities,” Long said. “I am grateful for all the support during my transition and excited to embrace any challenge to help patients receive the care they deserve.”
Adventist Health said Long will work with Brooke McCollough, current president at Lodi Memorial Hospital, to transition into his new role.
Day will transition into CEO of both hospitals, serving in consulting capacity during the transition as Long and McCollough assume full responsibility for the facilities’ daily operations.
“We welcome Doug to the Dameron Hospital leadership team,” Adventist Health Northern California Network president Eric Stevens said. “Together, Terri Day and Brooke McCollough have navigated the complex healthcare challenges facing Dameron and Adventist Health Lodi Memorial in recent years. This new leadership model adopting the ‘network’ approach will keep both Adventist Health Lodi Memorial and Dameron Hospital working closely together. We are excited to develop a new leadership model with a dedicated executive at Dameron Hospital as it continues to grow to best serve our community.”
