NEIMAN MARCUS IN BEVERLY HILLS IS READY FOR ANOTHER CLOSE-UP.

Los Angeles Confidential - - Contents - BY SPENCER BECK

Shop… and sparkle! Here’s to looking your best in Tinseltown.

Luxury department store Neiman Marcus isn’t sitting on its stylish laurels. The powers that be of the legendary Texasbased retailer noticed that, increasingly, shoppers were spending more and more time with friends—not just shopping, but getting their makeup done and meeting for lunch—or just a mid-shopping snack. To enhance that experience, the BevHills mainstay is taking on the competition with a Hollywood-worthy facelift. A major re-do of all five levels of the fashion mecca includes comfy seating throughout the store (who needs to stand while shopping?), three restaurants, a Champagne bar, and three spa rooms for relaxing facials. But let’s not forget the clothes! Neiman’s is the only retailer in LA to carry uber-hip/luxe brand Goyard as well as Chanel watches (outside of Chanel boutiques); it has also opened new hard shops for Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, and Dior. And if you hate trying on your fancy garb in a dark, dreary dressing room, check out the fitting room that has a view of the Hollywood sign! Now, that’s star power. 9700 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, 310-550-5900; neiman marcus.com

Five stars! Each of the five levels of Neiman Marcus’s Beverly Hills store has been refurbished with new boutiques, restaurants, a Champagne bar, as well as luxurious seating throughout for a more shopper-chic experience.
