TJ Starks had 22 points for the Matadors. Lance Coleman II added 13 points. Alex Merkviladze had 12 rebounds. at Minnesota 88, Loyola Marymount 73: Marcus Carr scored 22 of his 28 points in the first half and the Golden Gophers (2-0) beat the Lions (1-1). Joe Quintana scored 19 points to lead five players in double-figure scoring for Loyola Marymount. at UC Ir vine 135, Bethesda 55: Austin Jackson scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and DJ Davis added 18 points and contributed five assists to lead the Anteaters to the rout of the Flames. The Anteaters had seven players in double figures as they won their home opener.
