GOODNO, JR. M.D., John Alden
September 12, 1930 - April 21, 2021
Though born in Huntington, W.V., in 1963 he moved to Arcadia, CA. where he established his OB-GYN practice, and brought over 2000 babies into the world.
John received his M.D. from Medical College of Virginia in 1955. Interned at Mt. Carmel Hospital from 1955-1956 then enlisted as an officer in the USAF, served two years as Captain at WrightPatterson AFB in the Dept of OB-GYN. He did his Residency at The Baltimore City Hospitals and Fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was a Fellow at American College of OBGYN, Fellow at Pacific Coast OB-GYN Society, was a clinical instructor for the Department of OB-Gyn at the USC School of Medicine. He had multiple papers published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology throughout his career and was a Diplomat for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
After retiring in 1995, he joined Doctors without Borders and The Flying Doctors of Mercy with LIGA International. John actively volunteered with these organizations for almost 20 years. All the while he also maintained a very long-standing membership with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and served for multiple years as the 2nd VPMembership Chair with the Mid-Valley Arts League.
“Dr. John” as he was known by so many, is survived by his beloved wife Sara of 48 years. His children Maureen, Michael, Marjorie (Dexter), Thomas (Cyndi), Susan (Med), David (Beth), Tracy (Wendy). 10 Grandchildren Steven, Teresa, Maya, Justin T., Shalyn, Cherise, Justin G., Kevin, Cullen and Kiley and an amazing 22 GreatGrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward and his son Craig.
Celebration of Life and Family Visitation at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Arcadia, CA on May 29th, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow in Glendora, reservations are required via goodnosara410@gmail.com due to COVID seating is limited.

John Alden Goodno lives on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends.
