Busch gets 102nd Xfinity victory

Kyle Busch completed a five-for-five sweep of what might be his final season in the Xfinity Series with a late recovery at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Busch finished 0.550 seconds ahead of Jeb Burton for his 102nd Xfinity victory and 222nd overall in NASCAR’s three national series.

Busch took the lead after pushing Daniel Hemric ona restart with six laps remaining. Busch appeared to be trying to give Hemric, his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, a helpful push on the restart, but instead Hemric lost control and hit the wall.

Two more prefecture­s outside the immediate Tokyo area have decided to bar fans from attending Olympic events because of rising coronaviru­s infections, Tokyo Olympic organizers confirmed with the pandemic-delayed games opening in less than two weeks.

Tokyo organizers and the IOC earlier in the week barred all fans from venues in Tokyo and three neighborin­g prefecture­s. They make up the overwhelmi­ng majority of Olympic venues, although a smattering of outlying areas were allowed initially to have limited attendance.

All fans from abroad were banned months ago.

Now, two prefecture­s that were permitted to have fans have backed out of those plans.

Fukushima prefecture in northeaste­rn Japan has decided to hold its baseball and softball events without spectators. It has been joined by the northern prefecture of Hokkaido, which will hold soccer games without fans at the Sapporo Dome.

Featherwei­ght Yarisel Ramirez was added to the Tokyo Olympics boxing tournament, becoming the 10th member of the U.S.

team to qualify.

Bauke Mollema won a hilly 14th stage of the Tour de France, while Tadej Pogacar protected his commanding lead before the race heads into the Pyrenees. The 34-year-old Dutch rider for Trek claimed his second career stage victory at the Tour when he broke away on the way down from the fourth of the day’s five climbs. Mollema’s other Tour stage win was in 2017.

NFL linebacker Barkevious Mingo was released by the Atlanta Falcons after he was arrested in Texas on suspicion of indecency with a child-sexual contact, police said. Mingo, 30, was arrested Thursday by police in the Dallas suburb of Arlington. Jail records listed an address for Mingo in West Monroe, La.
