BJURMAN, George Andrew

George Andrew Bjurman has passed away of heart failure. He was 73 years old.

After graduating from Whitman College in 1970, Andy joined his father, George, in establishing the firm George D. Bjurman & Associates. The firm managed portfolios for corporate pension and profit-sharing plans, cities and states, foundations, endowment funds and individuals. He was a Chartered Financial Analyst, worked as a portfolio manager and helped manage the business. Later he became president and chief executive officer. In 2003 the firm became Bjurman, Barry & Associates.

Andy had many interests. He loved golf and won many tournaments, was a voracious reader, a passionate admirer of Western art and loved spending time in the Colorado Rockies.

Andy’s foundation, set up many years ago, will continue the legacy of his philanthropic interests.

He will be missed greatly by the many who loved him for his warm and good character and his unique charm and irrepressible sense of humor.

Andy was the beloved son of his late parents, George and Dorothy Bjurman, and the cherished brother of his surviving sister, Susan.
