Hernández’s two goals not enough for Galaxy

- WIRE REPORTS

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Willy Agada scored two firsthalf goals as Sporting Kansas City held off a late charge to beat the Galaxy 4-2 on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernández scored both Galaxy goals late in the second half to make it 3-2.

But a poor back pass by Julián Araujo to goalkeeper Jonathan Bond five minutes into second-half stoppage time allowed Kansas City’s Daniel Salloi to intercept it and score past Bond for the final margin.

The Galaxy (9-11-3) are winless in their last five road games with one tie and are outside the playoff race in the Western Conference.
