Lee Louise Sweeney passed away August 6, 2022 with her family by her side. Lee was born in Chicago on August 8, 1930 to Patrick and Ellyn Gallagher. Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1935 where she grew up in Cypress Park. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1948. After graduation she worked in Hollywood for the owners of The Flamingo Hotel. In 1953 she married her high school sweetheart Jack Sweeney and they raised a family of 5 in San Marino. Lee was very involved at Sts. Felicitas & Perpetua School, St. Francis H.S. and Mayfield Sr. School. She was the ultimate sports mom never missing her children’s baseball, basketball, football and softball games. She was an avid reader and loved family vacations to Capistrano Beach. In 1993 Lee and Jack moved to Niguel Shores in Monarch Beach. She was active in the Golf, and Garden clubs and St. Edwards Church. She loved hosting holiday gatherings and beach days with family. She was a lifelong Angels Baseball fan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Jack Sweeney; and her sisters Janon Williams and Jean Soberanes. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Culpepper and brother Ed Gallagher.; her children, Jack (Andrea), Mark (Teri), Bob (Leslie), Tom (Shelley) Sweeney, Kerry (Eric) Hinkelman; grandchild­ren, Jack (Jamie), Patrick (Melissa), Kevin (Christine), Cory (Allyson),Troy, Robin, Danny, Ryan, Thomas and Bridget Sweeney, Erin and Will Hinkelman; and great-grandchild­ren, Olivia, Elle, Mia, Mikayla, True, Abygayle and Scarlett.
