2022 Los Angeles Times Food Bowl
Celebrating L.A.’s top culinary talent, the annual festival presented by City National Bank is Sept. 1-30 and includes a dining series honoring Times Restaurant of the Year Anajak Thai and Gold Award winner Genet Agonafer of Meals by Genet. Food Bowl’s Night Market returns Sept. 23-25 at Paramount Pictures Studios. The first week’s events include:
Sept. 1 — Food Bowl Launch Party: Tastings from Kato’s Jon Yao, Anajak Thai’s Justin Pichetrungsi, Petit Trois’ Ludo Lefebvre, Woodspoon’s Natalia Pereira, Fat + Flour’s Nicole Rucker and more. Times Food team General Manager Laurie Ochoa will honor Restaurant of the Year and Gold Award recipients with a live presentation. 7 p.m., Grandmaster Recorders, 1518 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles.
Sept. 2-3 — Restaurant of the Year Award Dinners: Omakase dinners by Restaurant of the Year chef Justin Pichetrungsi at Anajak Thai. Note: This event is sold out. Anajak Thai, 14704 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks.
Sept. 3 — Six Taste Original Downtown L.A. Food Tour: Explore historic landmarks on this cultural and culinary walking tour, with tastings at multiple restaurants. 11 a.m., Angel’s Flight, near Grand Central Market, 324 S. Hill St., Los Angeles.
Sept 4 — “Ratatouille” dinner and a movie: A family-friendly Eat See Hear screening of “Ratatouille.” Food from Border Grill, La Sorted’s Pizzeria and Gemini Bakehouse. 5:30 p.m., Autry Museum of the American West, Griffith Park, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles.
Sept. 7 — Kali Michelin Collaboration Dinner: Kali hosts a one-night, five-course collaboration tasting menu with Michelin-starred restaurants Shibumi (David Schlosser), Bistro Nas (Tian Yong) and Pasta Bar (Nathan Tauer).
