Benintendi out with hurt wrist

New York Yankees left fielder Andrew Benintendi was placed on the 10-day injured list with right wrist inflammation. The team plans additional tests to determine the severity of the problem. Benintendi left in the third inning of Friday’s 9-0 loss to Tampa Bay after injuring the wrist on a swing. He shook his hand and immediately walked to the Yankees dugout. Manager Aaron Boone says Benintendi thought something popped on the wrist and that he had some finger numbness.

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco is set to resume his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday. ... The Pittsburgh Pirates have inducted 19 members as part of the inaugural class for the team’s Hall of Fame. Of the 19, 16 had already been enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
