at No. 8 Michigan 51, Colorado State 7: Cade McNamara had a lackluster performance that was made moot by a dominant Wolverines defense, which had seven sacks, an interception and a 45-yard touchdown off a fumble recovery by DJ Turner early in the third. McNamara started one of five and finished nine of 18 for 136 yards, a total boosted by a short pass he threw that Roman Wilson turned into a 61yard touchdown early in the first quarter. at No. 18 Wisconsin 38, Illinois State 0: Braelon Allen had a 96-yard touchdown scamper for the longest run from scrimmage in Badgers history and John Torchio had the school’s longest interception return — 100 yards — in a rout of the Redbirds, who lost their main weapon on offense when running back Cole Mueller was carted off the field. at Iowa 7, South Dakota State 3: The Hawkeyes’ defense came up with two second-half safeties on a day when neither team could do much offensively. Iowa finished with 166 yards of offense, while South Dakota State had 120. The teams combined for more punts (21) than first downs (16). at Maryland 31, Buffalo 10: Roman Hemby ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yard sprint in the first minute of the second half that helped the Terrapins pull away. On an otherwise uneven day for the Maryland offense, Hemby breezed through a gaping hole and raced untouched to the end zone for the team’s longest run since 2019. That gave the Terrapins a 24-7 advantage after 39 seconds in the third quarter. at Nebraska 38, North Dakota 17: Anthony Grant ran for 189 yards and two touchdowns, with the second one breaking a tie late in the third quarter and helping the Cornhuskers bounce back from their loss to Northwestern and end a seven-game losing streak. Nebraska scored on its opening possession for a second straight week but not again until the third quarter.
